Do I need to make a provision in my will for my pets?

I suggest to my clients that they do provide a provision in their trust for their pets. I have done many pet provisions that will include a specific caretaker, a specific amount of money, and a separate subtrust for that pet. In addition, there are irrevocable pet trusts that can be drafted as well.
