What happens if I become unable to care for myself?

Return to FAQ Videos.
If you are unable to care for yourself you will have a medical power of attorney so someone who is your agent can take care of non trust assets. You will have a health care surrogate who will make medical decisions for you. And also you will have a successor trustee to handle your trust assets. You must get either a physicians letter or two doctors letters that are not your attending physician to determine whether you are incapacitated or not.
