Who needs estate planning?

Return to FAQ Videos.
Everyone who is 18 years old or older needs some sort of estate planning. At 18, if you do not have any assets, you still need a power of attorney, a medical power of attorney or healthcare surrogate, and a living will. If you are 18 years or older and you have assets, you will need a will and a trust to protect your assets and avoid probate.
